Corks and Bottles

May 28, 2011

I am really motivated to start incorporating more Montessori works into PlumGirl’s play time.  Today I introduced some corks, a baby bottle, and a Tupperware.  I thought that she would have fun putting the corks into the bottle and then shaking them out.  (She has been shaking her drinks, so I also thought having something she was allowed to shake might be good for her.)  She really enjoyed the activity as I had planned it for a few minutes, and then she started experimenting herself.  She tried pouring the corks from the Tupperware into the bottle and quickly discovered that this didn’t work very well.  Then she discovered the most exciting thing of all.  She put all the corks in the Tupperware and then shook it!  The corks went flying and she was giggling like crazy.

She picked up all the corks and shook them out again and again until it was lunch time.  I think that this activity will be out for awhile.
